Poor,
Poor, Poor Lenny
Lenny
Kravitz will be releasing his sixth LP, Lenny in November.
On it, the diminutive Kravitz reveals that, in spite of his preternatural
ability to attract only the finest and hottest women on the planet,
his heart has been broken many times. "I just want someone
to settle down and grow old with. I want someone who loves me for
me, not just my huge piles of money, rippling abs and cool tattoos
and piercings."
In the album's first single, If I Could Fall In Love, Kravitz
sings "If I could fall in love/ I wouldn't need a shove/ Like
a hand inside a glove/ You're what I'm dreaming of."
"I wrote that one night in Cannes after Giselle Bundchen, my
girlfriend at the time, left my room and I was pretty lonely. Cannes
can be a lonely place when you don't have anyone to love."
In
another song Fire of My Desire, Kravitz trades in his funky
rock for a more straight-forward funk-tinged rock feel. In Desire,
Kravitz sings "You are the fire of my desire/ We can go higher/
Through the wire of desire/ Into the fire that's higher."
Here's
hoping that with the release of his new album, Kravitz can finally
be happy.

Career Move - Part One
Guitarist
Michael Ward has left the Wallflowers.
"About
a year ago I quit the band and then was persuaded into staying by
our manager, Andy Slater," Ward revealed over the phone Thursday
(October 11). "So I stayed through the whole Breach tour."
Then
last week he was given his walking papers. The rift between Ward
and the Wallflowers mostly stemmed from frontman Jakob Dylan's absolute
control over the group, he said.
"Sure,
I was hired on as a session guy and no one ever made so much as
a mention of me ever contributing to the songs beyond my guitar
parts, but I wanted to have some input, ya know? I mean, if I could
get one writing credit on a single, I'd be set for life, but that
dick Dylan wouldn't throw me a bone. He thinks his shit don't stink."
The notoriously reclusive Dylan was not available for comment.
Ward
reports he has plenty on his plate these days. "Oh yeah, I've
got all kinds of projects going on and I've never been happier.
You know those luxury suites and private jets get really old after
a while." Ward said wistfully "I'm really excited to labor
in obscurity for once and am looking forward to the squalor part,
too."

Career Move - Part Two
It's
been a bad week for guitarists in established acts.
Limp
Bizkit's Wes Borland has announced that he has left the multi-platinum
group to pursue other interests.
"Let's
face it, Durst is a no-talent dick." said Borland when asked
why he left the group. "After I saw that video of him acting
like Vanilla Ice and doing the Cabbage Patch, I said to myself "Wes,
you have got to get out of this situation before your credibility
as an artist is completely nil." And I called Fred to tell
him it was over. At first he was calling me all sorts of names like
"bitch-ass ho" and "ho-ass bitch", then I guess
when it started to sink in that he'd have to write songs, he started
choking up and crying and stuff and begging me to stay. It was kind
of pathetic, really."
Borland
plans to continue work with his side project Big Dumb Face. Of his
future prospects, Borland says "Well, Bizkit fans have got
to grow up sometime. Most of those mooks are in jail, working at
gas stations to take care of their baby's mothers, or have just
lost interest. I figure I'm getting out at the right time."

Granny
Ann
and Nancy Wilson have announced that they will start work on the
first Heart album in eight years. The sisters have not been idle
since Heart's last album, however. They have collaborated on an
acoustic-based group called Love Mongers and Nancy has written music
for all of husband Cameron Crowe's films, including Jerry Maguire
and Almost Famous. She is putting the finishing touches on
his latest, Vanilla Sky.
"I
pretty much had writer's block for a while" said Nancy "Now,
with all that's been going on in the world, I hear potential lyrics
and titles every time I turn on the television."
The
Wilsons have released the track listing for the new album, tentatively
entitled Make No Mistake.
1.
Make No Mistake
2. The Evil-Doers
3. Secure Location
4. Your Love (Is Like A White Powdery Substance)
5. Cough Up That Love
6. America's Heroes

Say
It Ain't Ho, Mo!
Australian
schmaltz-rockers, Savage Garden announced they are going their separate
ways, for some reason. Known primarily for fruity tunes that appealed
to overweight administrative assistants, Savage Garden will be missed
by some. "I totally loved that song about standing on the mountain!
They played it all the time on Lite 99." said administrative
assistant Carrie Weiss. "I used to sing it to my cat, Mr. Mittens,
while I tried his clothes on him. I'm sad that they broke up."
According
to the guy with the braids, Savage Garden decided to split to do
other stuff. And other dudes.
